OLD BUSINESS

SOKBF

Vendors:  Karen handed out the vendor applications for Food and Arts & Crafts.  These applications are now on our website, and Suki/Dana have emailed them to past vendors.  All Board members are encouraged to seek vendors for the Spirit of Kansas event.  Paul suggested Topeka’s Farmer’s Market vendors should be given applications – Karen will hand to appropriate vendors for our event.  Food vendors will be placed closer to festival area.

Budget/Fundraising, Brochures, etc.:  TBS will encourage donors donate to us through Topeka Gives 2015, to increase our matching funds.  Our festival brochure will be combined with the SOK brochure, Rod is working on it with Parks & Rec – they want brochure completed by May 20th for distribution.  Parks & Rec officials would like to be more involved next year, and would like to start planning earlier.  Country Legends will have their radio van at event and will interview artists. Media will be allowed in Lodge.  We will need more water bottles this year.  Luan & Mike will only serve BBQ pork this year, hoping a vendor will serve burgers/dogs/brats.  Volunteers will be given tickets for BBQ.  Gib will ask ice vendor if we can get 10# bags of ice instead of 20#.  Camp site has been sold out for that weekend.  We should advertise near the RV parks and Lonnie’s.

Guitar Giveaway

Guitar “Sally Mae” is nearly finished, should be ready for May 20th Summertime Blues.  Promote on website and Facebook.  Discussion regarding tickets and prices – Bill moved that 150 tickets be available for guitar giveaway, asking $20 donation each ticket, Paul second; approved. Karen is in possession of the 150 tickets that will be used, orange tickets #623 – #772.  Name & phone number must be on each ticket.

Topeka Gives, June 2, 7am-6pm @ Fairlawn Plaza

Karen will go to registration on June 1st.  Gib will have sign made for our table.  Karen is working on sharing table with another participant.  We will have some posters on display, as well as membership brochures and information on TBS.  Karen will promote to our membership via email, and also on Facebook.
