EARLY SHOW RECAP/BLUES IN SCHOOLS

All agreed the early show at Uncle Bo’s, with the Ross Elementary middle school students and many other students in the audience, was a huge success.  Suki will ask Stacy if she would be interested in doing another Student event next Spring. Karen said we sold $105 in merchandise,  received several membership renewals and one new member joined.

Suki suggested we give TBS membership cards to Ross Elementary students that attended the early show last week, and also hand them out at our summer concerts and festivals. The Board agreed this is a great idea.

Harmonicas will need to be ordered for the January Blues in Schools.

TBS MEMBERSHIP BROCHURE

Karen said she and Rod are beginning work on a new membership brochure.  He asked if we want a listing of our different events and fundraising opportunities listed.  Karen will send information to Rod, and then bring a draft of the brochure to a meeting.

SOKBF

Karen had emailed to Board members a list of corporations for possible sponsorship and/or donations for the Blues Festival.  Suki will contact Washburn University to see if they can be involved in any way.  Suki is working on acquiring bands for the festival.

AMERICAN ROYAL BBQ COMPETITION

Mike Betts and his BBQ will be competing at the American Royal next October – he is not sure what size tent he will have.  Suke suggested a two-piece group entertain.  More on this as the date gets closer.
