The Topeka Blues Society is excited to once again participate in the Topeka Gives 2016 event on June 7th at Fairlawn Plaza! Below are some frequently asked questions about this event.

What is Topeka Gives? A one-day event, celebrating charitable giving. The Topeka Community Foundation will provide $73,500.00 in “match” money for contributions made to support 158 different nonprofit organizations in the community.
When is Topeka Gives? From 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 7, 2016. Rain or shine!
Where is Topeka Gives? Inside Fairlawn Plaza Mall – 21st and Fairlawn.
How and where do I donate? Contributions made by check, cash or credit card
will be accepted inside Fairlawn Plaza Mall – the event will be held rain or shine.
Should I bring my children with me to Topeka Gives? Yes! Many of the nonprofit organizations will have kid-friendly, hands-on activities. In addition to having fun, you can model the joy of charitable giving to your children.
Which nonprofit organizations are participating? 158 different nonprofit organizations are participating. A full listing can be found at

Is there a minimum or maximum donation amount? There is a $25
minimum gift. While there is no maximum gift amount … Maximum amount to be matched per donor will be $1,000/organization with a five organization maximum. There also is a limit of 5 agencies per donor contribution.
Can I mail in my donation? No. Contributions must be made in person at
Fairlawn Plaza Mall that day.
Can I make my donation online? No. This is an in-person event and contributions must be made in person at Fairlawn Plaza Mall that day.
What methods of payment can I use? Cash, Check and Credit Card are welcomed.
How will my gift be matched? Through Topeka Gives, the Topeka Community
Foundation is offering a $73,500.00 pro-rated match and NOT a dollar-for-dollar match … The match percentage will be calculated as follows: $73,500.00/Total Gifts Raised = Match Percentage for each gift. 100% of your gift plus the Foundation’s match will be passed on to the organization(s) you select on your contribution form.
To whom should my check be made payable? Checks should be made payable to the Topeka Community Foundation and should accompany a contribution form
outlining the nonprofit organization(s) being credited with your contribution. Forms will be available on the Foundation’s web site at www.topekacommunityfoundation.org and will be provided at the event.
Can I make a donation to more than one organization? Yes. There
is a $25 minimum and your donation, provided it meets the $25 minimum per organization,can support up to 5 organizations.
What percentage of my donation will the organization receive? 100% of your gift will go to your selected organization(s). We do not know and cannot estimate

Can my gift be private? Yes, you can choose for your gift to be made anonymously.
