IBC Kick-Off party at Uncle Bos

Gettin’ the winter-time, damn it’s cold, blues?  We’ve got the cure!  A FULL blues weekend of live music is coming your way!

Friday night, Jan. 16th, is the Kick-Off party at Uncle Bo’s for the Topeka Blues Society’s challengers for the International Blues Challenge in Memphis this month!  TBS is proud to be sending two acts:  Blue Cat, our “band” challenger winner from Salina featuring Jimmie Lewin, Tom Cannon, Tom Jones and Micha Gordon; and Pat Nichols, from Lawrence, our solo challenger winner.  Blue Cat and Pat Nichols will be performing during the Kick-Off party.  Also performing will be Levee Town, Jaisson Taylor (Kansas City Blues Society’s solo challenger winner), and Brandon Hudspeth.

Saturday night, Jan. 17th, continues our Kick-Off celebration at Uncle Bo’s, with Nebraska Blues Society’s “band” challenger winner, Hector Anchondo from Ohama, and Coyote Bill, Kansas City Blues Society’s “Band” winner.  TBS’s band challenger, Blue Cat, will again perform.

Sunday, Jan. 18th, is the 3rd day of Jam4Dan8, featuring several funk/blues acts at the Celtic Fox (116 SW 8th) in Topeka:  Swift Kick (2pm), Atomic Suede (3pm), That Damn Blues Band (4pm), The Mad Notes (5pm), Mark & The Sharks (6pm), Back Porch Blues Band (7pm), Hector Anchondo (8:15pm) and Slow Ya’ Roll (9:30pm).  Music begins at noon with a Singer-Songwriter Showcase.  Jam4Dan celebrates the life of Topeka musician and guitar instructor Dan Falley, and raises money for a scholarship fund established in his memory after his death in a 2008 two-vehicle crash.  $5 contribution requested for adults, children accompanied by an adult admitted free of charge.   For updates, go to http://jam4dan.com
