ADMIN

The Blues Society Board will meet on April 23rd @ 6:30 PM at Uncle Bo’s.  ALL MEMBERS ARE WELCOME AND ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND.  We need everyone’s help to get ready for the 3rd Annual Spirit of Kansas Blues Fest (July 4th Lake Shawnee).  We will be setting up committees for the blues festival at this meeting.

If you missed the Blue Star Connection Fund Raiser last Thursday at Uncle Bo’s you missed a great show for a good cause.  We raised over $3,100 for Blue Star Connection with the door receipts, silent auction and guitar raffle.  The music was fantastic and everyone connected with the charity event praised the Topeka Blues Society for the great job of pulling it all together!  We hope to do it again next year with more lead time and a greater effort at fund raising.  In addition to the $$ raised, several slightly used instruments were donated to be given to the organizations helping kids with cancer.  The organizers were estatic!
